American CiCi Bellis who is only 15 years old upset 12th seed Dominika Cibulkova at the US Open 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. CiCi is the youngest US Open winner since 1996, Anna Kournikova of Russia was 59 days younger when she reached the fourth round in 1996.
CiCi will be up against Zarbia Dyas of Kazakhstan ranked 48 in the second round, unfortunately for her she will not be able to cash the US$60,420 prize money on offer because she is still an amateur.
