Former British tennis star Baltacha Dead at 30
Elena Sergeevna Baltacha was a former British professional tennis player. She won the Aegon Award four times. She retired from tennis due to knee injuries on November 18, 2013.
Baltacha in 2010 had victories over top 10 players, that includes two wins against Li Na and one against Francesca Schiavone, who at the time was the reigning French Open champion. In 2011 she won her most highly ranked tournament on the ITF tour by bringing home the 2011 Aegon Nottingham trophy.
Elena was born in Ukraine and grew up in Scotland.
She died from liver cancer on May 4, 2014, she was 30.
